Guided Trail Runs 2020

Raising money for Animals in Need

Join me on a trail run through the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside and support Animals in Need.

These guided monthly Saturday trail runs are suitable for runners of all experience and abilities; you will explore new footpaths, tracks and trails in the beautiful countryside surrounding Waddesdon village in the company of like-minded runners.

Starting in July each run will be between 8-12km (5-7.5 miles) and will take a different route each month.

The cost for each run is £5 with the money going to Animals in Need who are dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, trapped and distressed wild and domestic animals.

All runs start at 9.30am and we meet outside Waddesdon School.

Following England Athletics guidelines these group runs are limited to 10 people per run. I will have a waiting list so please contact me if you want to be put on the list. If you book a place and are unable to attend please let me know asap, with at least 24 hours notice, so I can offer your place to someone else. As this is a charity fundraiser any cancellations less than 24 hours of the run will not be refunded.

Pre-pay by card below to avoid handling cash.

Additional Information and FAQs

Please wear trail shoes if you have them. Road shoes will be okay if the paths are dry. However, as the runs will go ahead whatever the weather if it has been raining trail shoes will give you more grip. Depending on the weather you may also need sunscreen or a waterproof jacket.
These guided runs are a perfect introduction to trail running! You don't have to worry about where you are running or planning a route as I have done that all for you! Trail running is a bit different to road running. There are usually a few more hills and uneven surfaces, and you may find that you run slower at first on the trails. But that is also what makes it fun, and there are plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the views!
The routes are a mixture private roads, footpaths through fields and farm tracks.
These are social runs, not a race. We run at the pace of the slowest runner, which means if you are faster I will give you the opportunity to do some out and back loops or stop ahead to admire the views.
These are social runs, not a race. We run at the pace of the slowest runner and I make sure no one is left behind. Trail running is fun and sociable and my guided runs are focussed on the experience of the trails, rather than the speed of the run.
Short answer is yes! Almost all of the runs have some hills, some bigger than others. BUT you don't have to run them all! Walking part of a hill is okay. It gives you a chance to have a drink, or a snack, or chat to your fellow runners.
Please bring some water and any snacks you think you will need.
Following England Athletics guidelines the group will be limited to 10 people (plus me!) and everyone will be asked to keep 2m apart during the run. You are encouraged to bring hand santizer as there will be gates and stiles that we need to go through.
